I Am America Singer
I am bright and silent.
I wonder how things would be if I wasn't chosen.
I hear my mother bickering at me.
I see my 2 younger siblings.
I want things to be normal.
I am bright and silent.
I pretend to agree with my mother.
I feel like I never have a say in things.
I touch my sister's red hair.
I cry for relief from the pressure.
I am bright and silent.
I understand my mother just wants what's best for the family.
I say I'm not lovely.
I dream of staying where I am.
I try to help my father more.
I hope I don't get chosen into the Selection.
I am bright and silent.

"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles." - Christopher Reeve ("Superman")
This quote states how a hero isn't just someone who has supernatural abilities. A hero can be a person who just tries their best no matter what the situation is. Whether it's saving the world or saving one person, their courage and their perseverance is what makes them a true hero. I agree with this quote because kids see hero as someone like Spiderman. Or Batman. Yes, the movies of full of action and violence, but they don't realize until the end of the story that they went through all those obstacles to save who they love. Their family, friends, partners, strangers. That's who they live for. They put others before themselves, which is what makes them so... glorifying. I don't see myself exactly as a hero, but I try to help my family and friends as much as I can. I put my mother before anyone. She is MY ROCK. I love her more than life itself. She is my hero because she has always worked her butt of to give us what we wanted. As a single mother, I look up to her. She's been through a lot of obstacles physically too, and I'm so blessed to have her in my life still.
